At Six Degrees Off Grid, there’s no shortage of activities to immerse you in nature and local culture. Whether you’re seeking adventure or relaxation, there’s something for every traveler.

Explore Towale Village

At Six Degrees Off Grid, we offer more than just a place to stay – we invite you to immerse yourself in the friendly culture of Towale Village, a charming fishing community, also know for its traditional weaving, all done on old wooden hand-looms. Located just a 20-minute walk along the beach or a short boat ride away, the village is an interesting destination to experience local life. Whether you’re here to relax, explore, or connect with nature, our curated activities ensure there’s something for everyone.

Snorkeling, Freediving & Paddle-boarding

Discover the stunning underwater world of Central Sulawesi! Swim among vibrant coral reefs teeming with marine life. If you’re lucky, you might spot a dugong – these gentle creatures call the seagrass meadow right in front of Six Degrees home and are occasionally visible from the bar. There’s also a healthy sea turtle population in the area, and neighbouring beaches to explore.

The Dugongs of Towale – A bucket-list experience

For certified divers, we partner with a nearby dive shop. Snorkeling gear is available for free, and we can arrange local guides and boat trips to take you to the best spots. Don’t miss Towale Atoll, a coral cay 1 km offshore that offers exceptional snorkeling.

We also have paddle-boards available for guests.

Wildlife Encounters

Our eco-lodge is surrounded by unique ecosystems brimming with wildlife. Take a walk along the beaches or into the forest to discover endemic birds, reptiles, bear cuscus, and more. For a truly unforgettable experience, set out on a boat trip to search for dugongs in their natural habitat.

Cultural Connections

Engage with the warm and welcoming Towale community through immersive cultural activities. Observe traditional weaving, try your hand at cooking local dishes, or rent a car to explore neighboring villages and their unique way of life.

Beachside Relaxation

Unwind on our private beach, where soft sands and crystal-clear waters invite you to relax. Whether you’re soaking up the sun, enjoying a good book, or taking a leisurely swim, this tranquil spot is perfect for recharging.

Day Trips

Explore more of what the region has to offer with guided trips to waterfalls, scenic hiking trails, bustling markets, remote villages, and more. We’ll help you craft an itinerary to make the most of your stay.

A popular half-day trip is renting a local pontoon boat and heading out to Towale Atol, a coral reef around 1km offshore. Experience the reef and its inhabitants, have a picnic on the boat, and a chance to see larger marine mammals on the way.
